Dr. Eng. Mohamad Fathi GHANAMEH, is currently an Associate Professor at the “Université Internationale de Rabat” (UIR), Morocco, and adjunct Professor at Syrian Virtual University, Syria. (Associate Professor at Damascus university but actually in a temporary long leave), he was director of scientific research and post-graduate studies at Damascus university, between 2010-2015; and general manager of TARKIAH Industrial Studies; Consultancies and Testing Company between 2010-2015. He has twenty-four years of academic experience as academic professor in four universities of three countries (Syria, France & Morocco), twenty years of professional experience as consultant & NDT inspector (LII-UT, PT, RT, MT according to ASNT) in several industrial companies in addition to the experience working in accreditation systems (ASME welders accreditation, ISO 9001 & ISO 17025, ABET), and five years of administration experience as Director of scientific research and post-graduate studies at Damascus university, and as member of some national and international comities in field of Capacity Building in Higher Education, Scientific Research, Higher Education Development, Accreditation of Academic Programs, and Creativity and Innovation Policies. His main research interests are in the area of fatigue of mechanical structure such as welded and riveted joints, (either by numerical simulation or experimental investigation), in addition to some research and development in the non-destructive evaluation methods and techniques, in his research, he developed with his group of research some testing techniques for : Stress analysis of welded tubular joints; Mechanical properties of polymers & metallic materials; Impacts analysis of laminated glass (Falling Ball Impact Test, Pendulum Test); Corrosion analysis in pipeline (Weight Loss Method); Non-destructive testing (Automated Remote Visual Inspection, Digitizing Ultrasonic Testing, Defect Detecting by Thermography).
During his academic and professional work period, he edited more than 10 books in field of Automation, Robotic, Non-Destructive Tests, and mechanical drawing, and published more than 10 papers in refereed journals and more than 35 papers in national and international conferences. He participate in 5 national and international research projects as coordinator or member, supervised many Master and PhD projects (17 finished & 4 ongoing) and examined more than 20 Master and PhD projects, he gate two medals for creativity and innovation (one gold and one Bronze ) in addition to teaching many courses in several areas such as Modeling and Simulations, Scientific research methodologies, Material and mechanical testing, Engineering Drawing, Machine design, Mechanics of materials, Structural analysis, and E-cmmerce & E-business development.
