Strategy and vision

The LERMA is structured based on projects-teams’ model. In fact, each of this team might include members from different research teams ( EE/ MM/ CS) in order to work on funded R&D projects, which could contribute to the scientific sectors and priorities promoted by the Country Strategy. Domains of applications include, among other, solar energy, energy efficiency in buildings, advanced materials, health, smart vehicle, e-mobility/ITS, and intelligent water management. We mainly put more emphasize on technologies and research transfer, which will have a strong impacts on the society and economy. In fact, we are planning to build living labs, which will be composed of main stakeholders, end users, and decision makers, in order to strengthen the open science/innovation transfer. These structures, in cooperation with the university's innovation center, will increase the technology transfer by bringing research and innovation close to the end users and main stakeholders.

This model will allow combining and consolidating researchers' efforts in order to improve the Lab's scientific production. Furthermore, working on multidisciplinary projects will strengthen our participation to the development of the country and enhance our collaborations and visibility at the regional, national and international level.

For instance, via many funded projects, the Lab’s members have deployed different platforms for education and research.
