Overview
The MENA Summer School offers an intensive, multidisciplinary program focused on the contemporary transformations across the Middle East and North Africa. Held in Rabat, Morocco, this program provides a rich academic environment to explore:
The social and political evolution of the MENA region
Morocco’s strategic role as a bridge between Africa and the Arab world
Regional geopolitics in the Afro-Mediterranean space
The dynamics of identity, governance, and reform in North Africa
Students are encouraged to approach the MENA region not just as a geopolitical space but as a complex mosaic of cultures, histories, and political systems. Through immersive learning and expert-led seminars, the program helps participants build a critical lens to understand current debates and long-term trajectories.
Program Content
The MENA Summer School offers a curated selection of academic courses taught by leading scholars. Participants may choose one or more of the following modules:
Contemporary Moroccan Society, Culture & Politics (4 ECTS)
Explore social transformations, cultural dynamics, and political reforms in modern Morocco.Morocco: A Gateway to Africa and the Middle East (4 ECTS)
Understand Morocco’s geopolitical positioning and foreign policy across Africa and the Arab world.Challenges & Prospects of the New Geo-Politics of the Afro-Mediterranean Region (4 ECTS)
Analyze regional rivalries, economic interdependencies, and strategic reconfigurations across the Afro-Mediterranean space.
Students can combine these courses with Arabic language training for a fully immersive academic experience. All courses are credit-bearing and internationally transferable.
Location & Methodology

The program is hosted by the International University of Rabat and combines academic instruction with real-world exposure:

Admission Requirements
🎓 Eligibility
Open to undergraduate and graduate students from relevant disciplines such as international studies, Middle Eastern studies, political science, sociology, and related fields. No minimum GPA required, but applicants should demonstrate academic engagement and openness to intercultural learning.
💰 Tuition Fees
Depending on the number of selected courses:
1 course: 7,500 MAD
2 courses: 12,900 MAD
3 courses: 17,900 MAD
(Fee includes tuition, cultural activities, and university facility access.)
