Ashraf Ali Mohamed Omar is currently a professor in the school of aerospace and automotive engineering at international university of Rabat (UIR). Before joining UIR, he has worked as a faculty member at international Islamic university Malaysia (IIUM), university Putra Malaysia (UPM) and university of Tripoli (UOT). He received his B Sc degree in aeronautical engineering at university of Tripoli in 1988, M Sc and PhD in 1994 and 1999, respectively at the aerospace engineering department of Seoul national University (SNU). His research interests cover a wide range of topics including computational fluid dynamics, aerospace aerodynamic, road vehicle aerodynamics, flow control, experimental aerodynamics, wind turbine aerodynamics, bio-aerodynamics, UAVs and MAVs. Professor Ashraf has published more than 150 articles in the refereed journals and conference proceeding. He was primary/co-investigator for several Malaysian national grants, and he is currently leading two LEARM PhD projects on the low Reynolds aerodynamics and drag reduction of the road vehicles.
