Abstract: The main aim of SELFSERV project was to develop a novel software platform for the definition of diabetes telecareservices. It addresses the needs of the Moroccan diabetic patients and hooking into the self-serving "wells" of theMoroccan societies and culture. The platform combines the “self-service” model offered by the service-orientedcommunities and advanced adaptive control features offered by complex event processing techniques. Theplatform was tested in a small-scale environment to assess its efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
