El Hachmi ESSADIQI is a university professor at the School of Aerospace and Automotive Engineering - Université Internationale de Rabat.
His primary research areas include materials design and processes, lightweighting of materials for automotive and aerospace applications (e.g., Al – Li and composites), alloys and the design of rolling processes, shaping, thermomechanical processing, as well as the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Dr. Essadiqi has developed a twin roll casting process for magnesium alloys and designed thermomechanical processes for thin sheets of magnesium alloys in collaboration with General Motors, Novelis, MagNET (a network of excellence comprising 5 Canadian universities), and the Helmholtz Geesthacht Centre (formerly GKSS) in Germany. He is currently researching seawater desalination using solar energy with natural fiber composite materials and lightweighting of metallic structures. Dr. Essadiqi has published over 150 articles in scientific journals.
