About our research
Our school focuses on teaching and research. Our students work side-by-side with faculty on numerous research projects that are pioneering many areas of engineering.
Discover our research themes
Advanced materials
This area of research includes multiphase modeling and simulation for the behavior at several scales (nano, micro and macro) of materials, the characterization of materials, the lightweighting of structures for automotive and aeronautical applications. In this area we also work on the design, manufacturing processes and behavior of metallic and composite materials.
Aerospace Industry
This area of research includes: Drag reduction methods for vehicles. Optimization of low Reynolds number airfoils and wings, wind turbine aerodynamics and flow control techniques for wind turbine rotor blades, and fluid dynamics for aerospace applications.
Maintenance of industrial structures
In this area we are particularly interested in intelligent structures and condition-based maintenance of machines by developing structural health monitoring techniques and non-destructive testing applied to the automobile and aerospace industries. These techniques include vibrational methods as well as those based on ultrasound using piezoelectric transducers.
Maintenance using augmented reality is also one of our areas of interest within the school
