Mustapha FAQIR is currently a full professor and dean in the “aerospace and automotive engineering school” of Rabat International University, Morocco. He received his Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering, jointly from the University of Bordeaux 1, France, and the University of “Modena e Reggio Emilia”, Italy, working on the processing, characterization, modeling and reliability of III-V based transistors and LEDs for lighting and RF power applications. He was with MD Microdetectors, Italy, where he worked on sensors design for four years as an R&D Engineer and then as a consultant. For two years, he has been working as a researcher in the Center for Device Thermography and Reliability (CDTR) at the University of Bristol, UK, with a lead position in advanced materials for power electronics packaging (thermal and mechanical characterization, FEA, failure analysis…), with the aim of establishing an aerospace compatible European supply chain. At UIR, he is involved in many projects in the fields of desalination, CPV, solar farm monitoring, and advanced materials for aeronautics.
