Khalid Bouziane  obtained a Master and PhD degrees in Materials Science from Pierre & Marie Curie University (Paris 6 University/France). Currently, he is the Dean of the Higher School of Energy Engineering. He has over 25 years of experience in education and the multi-disciplinary field of materials science as well as solar energy fields. He has served at Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) during the period 1998-2011 in several service committees and teaching positions of leadership. 

Since 2011, he joined the International University of Rabat (UIR) as the Director of the Pole Renewable Energies and Petroleum Studies. He is a member of the Academic Council, the Research Council and the University Council of UIR. Based on his recent position as the Head of the Energy School at UIR, he gained an extensive & diversified experience in the Energy sector (Renewable Energy & Clean Energy) with all round knowledge of the Energy sector (Technical, Commercial, Policy & Regulatory Framework). 

He was/is the principal investigator or co-investigator of over 20 funded R&D projects on materials science, renewable energy and
corrosion. Prof. Bouziane has produced over 100 ISI scientific publications, conference communications, and scientific reports,
as well as 5 patents. Prof. Bouziane is a Senior Fellow of the UNISCO-UNISA Africa Chair in Nanosciences-Nanotechnology, as well as a Senior Fellow of the African Network for Solar Energy.
