Omar Jellouli is an Assistant Professor at the School of Energy Engineering (ECINE) at UIR. He teaches mathematics and computer science. His research areas encompass applied mathematics, modeling complex distributed systems, Cellular Automata approach, and artificial intelligence.

He has authored and co-authored several high-quality scientific articles, including the paper titled "Multi-scale 3D cellular automata modeling: application to wildland fire spread" in 2022, co-written with M. Byari, A.S. Bernoussi, M. Amharref, M. Ouardouz, published in the journal "Chaos, Solitons & Fractals." This article is ranked 1/108 in mathematics (Q1) and has an impact factor of 9.922.

He has also been involved in organizing various national and international conferences and workshops. As a member of the TDS-MACS research network (Research Network in Distributed Systems Theory, Modeling, Analysis and Control of Systems), he holds an active position in the field.

Currently, he co-supervises three doctoral theses and serves as a reviewer for numerous international journals specializing in mathematical modeling.

As a member of the team that successfully completed two projects, ERASMUS+ e-VAL and MarMooc, he is also involved in directing e-learning at UIR. He holds positions as Director of the Laboratories and Educational Support Committee (Labs&SP) and is a member of the Faculty Evolution and Development Committee and E-learning (DCP&EN) and accreditation committee member (ABET and Cti).
